Death to Racism!

Revolutionary Organizing Against Racism (ROAR) started as a conference in 2017 during the anti-fascist movement to translate the street protests that were happening all over the U.S. into a more radical analysis about racism's key role in our entire social structure. We know it's not enough to oppose street-level white supremacy and that ICE and the prisons are much more efficient institutions at upholding white supremacy and that if you are anti-racist, you must turn your attention to revolutionary politics. We're happy you are here, and we hope you enjoy our revolutionary content.

ROAR x BAABF✨

3/23/2020

On behalf of the Bay Area Anarchist Book Fair and the Revolutionary Organizing Against Racism Conference, we sadly must announce the postponement of our joint event that was to take place on April 25, 2020. Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in the Bay Area and the growing number of cases, it would be irresponsible of us as organizers to ask people to gather in such large numbers hoping not to spread the virus to our comrades and loved ones.

We continue to be inspired by people all around the world who are seizing this urgent moment to extend the principles of solidarity and mutual aid into the most vulnerable sectors of society that capitalism and the state have always forgotten and exploited. It is in this vein that we would like to adapt to the current moment and offer podcast interviews of different mutual aid projects around the world in order in educate and inspire to action those of us who are concerned with revolutionary solutions to the crisis of capitalism.

We hope to reschedule the original event to Fall 2020 in September or October. As the situation evolves in the coming months, we will have a better idea of a specific date.

Stay tuned in the weeks to come as we roll out a compilation of interviews with mutual aid projects from all over the country and updates from international comrades. Finally, we would like to thank all of you for supporting this project and the actions you are already taking in this time of great tumult to love and support one another.

Love and solidarity,

ROAR: Why We Need A Conference On Revolutionary Organizing Against Racism

"During these times more and more attention is being paid to those of us who use direct action and hold liberatory and revolutionary politics. We can use this moment not only to inspire others through our actions, but to also inspire with our ideas. To draw a line not just against this or that politician, or this or that Alt-Right figure, but to construct revolutionary positions such as returning land to the indigenous, centering black folks and their perspectives, community self-defense, taking care of one another, putting women and gender non-conforming people to the front, obliterating borders, opening prison doors, and gaining our freedom from the State, capitalism, and all the other damning institutions."

Read the full article here and make sure to check out It's Going Down , a digital community center for anarchist, anti-fascist, autonomous anti-capitalist and anti-colonial movements. Our mission is to provide a resilient platform to publicize and promote revolutionary theory and action.
